Ramaria is a bookstore and a cafe with a fantasy forest theme. The idea came from the term “fairy ring” which is a ring of mushrooms in folktales it's believed that they're created by fairies or elves and are often considered portals to other worlds. I wanted Ramaria to give off that feeling of being in another world which is also the feeling I get when I'm immersed in a fantasy themed good book. I decided to focus more on the mushrooms rather than fairies or elves in order to play around with the colors and the tops of the mushrooms to make some unique mascots for my bookcafe. Ramaria is run by our two capable mushroom citizens, Ram and Ari. Ram is a bookworm that is here to run and help navigate you through the bookstore by helping you find the perfect book, and Ari is a chef who loves cooking and making drinks so you always have a snack while you're enjoying your favorite book.
For the overall design I wanted to use rounded shapes as much as possible to match my 2 mascots round silhouettes. For colors I went for something a bit more muted and pastel to give it a more calming feeling. And lastly I really wanted to challenge myself with the colors and avoid using black and white as much as possible so my darkest colors are brown and cream.
